| The nomination for an honour of someone who lives on Aruba differs in procedure from the Netherlands. The nomination must be submitted to the Honour Commission of Aruba. After receiving the nomination, the Honour Commission sends its recommendation to the council of ministers of Aruba. This council determines whether an official nomination will be submitted to the Governor of Aruba.
The Governor then sends the nomination together with his carefully considered advice to the Netherlands, where it is studied by the Civil Honours Advisory Commission. From that moment, the procedure is the same as in the Netherlands. The decision on the recommendation to Her Majesty the Queen is taken by the minister for the Interior and Kingdom Relations. |
